Birds, Blooms, & Berries -  June Adult Art Classes at Rockland Public Library, 2013

Press Release: Rockland - Local artist Catinka Knoth leads a series of free drawing classes for adults on creating birds and floral or berry motif art and cards at Rockland Public Library. Classes meet at 11am, Mondays in June, 80 Union St,  in the Friends Community Room. Participants will create art using pencils, colored pencils, crayons, and scissors, with an emphasis on drawing in color. Each week is different bird and plant combination -  birds such as hummingbirds, cardinals, cedar waxwings, and bluebirds or bluejays. Knoth will give instruction and guidance. She invites students of all levels to come make art  in this communal and diverse environment.

"Let's Draw Jubilant June!" -  Children's Drawing Workshops at Rockland Public Library

Press Release: Rockland - Children will  explore 'early summer' themes for this month's children's drawing classes led by Catinka Knoth at Rockland Public Library. June provides subjects such as floral  scenes with poppies, roses, lilacs, and lupine; Father's Day cards; summer activities and seashore scenes; and 4th of July celebrations.
Students follow along with Knoth as she demonstrates drawing a variety of motifs. Knoth gears the classes for age 6 and up, including the young at heart. She expects participants to be able to work independently for the most part. Children age 10 and under need adult accompaniment, according to Library policy.

Each week will be a different subject. Classes meet 11 a.m.  Mondays, in the Community Room, Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St.  Led by Knoth, participants will  create their own art. "Let's Draw Marvelous May!" - Children's
Drawing Workshops at Rockland Public Library

Rockland - Children will draw Mother's Day cards and May baskets, migratory birds, Memorial Day themes, and marsh life  at this month's children's drawing classes led by Catinka Knoth at Rockland Public Library.

The ongoing workshops, sponsored by Wendy and Keith Wellin, for age 6 and up, (including the young at heart), are free and open to the public.  Children age 10 and under should be accompanied by an adult. Knoth expects participants to be able to work independently for the most part. The workshops provide all materials. May is also American Wetlands Month. Children will explore marsh and wetland habitats by drawing such animals as egrets, frogs, and beavers. International Migratory Birds Day is another May celebration and a chance to draw Spring warblers and other migratory birds. Knoth leads attendees in step-by-step drawing instruction for the day's theme. She encourages adults to participate and discover that drawing is for everyone.
