A Steiff Bunny and Colored Easter Eggs for Watercolor Class
Topic: Watercolor Class

Here is an Easter/Spring subject for watercolor class. The background is not lettuce but a lime green tee shirt. Try some practice painting of eggs first. Notice how the highlights on the egg face different directions. They follow the part of the surface that faces the light source (sunlight). This scene was set up in a window. These are shiny plastic eggs so the highlight is more exact and specific. If they were real dyed eggs, the highlight would be more diffused because the chalky calcium eggshell would absorb the light rather than bounce it back.
